Multifamily housing construction in central Arkansas in 2015 reached its highest point since 2012, with 1,236 units. That’s according to Metroplan, the federally designated planning agency for Pulaski, Faulkner, Saline and Lonoke counties.
“Multifamily construction accounted for about 7 percent more units than single-family during 2015,” said the latest Metro Trends report, “Owning, Renting & a Changing Housing Market in Central Arkansas,” released in July.
The largest project was a 612-unit complex in Benton; Little Rock saw 457 units begun, the report said.
In addition, small duplex and triplex projects were also started in Cabot and Conway in 2015.
