Rockwater Village of North Little Rock has been named among Southern Living magazine's "Southern Living Inspired Communities."
The magazine has named 18 communities to the list, billed as a "collection of neighborhoods marked by charm, taste and Southern spirit." The magazine said the communities "embrace a pride of place and encourage new traditions of living in the South."
Rockwater Village is the only Arkansas neighborhood on the list.
"Our vision for Rockwater Village has always been that it would be a unique community that combines the best of traditional neighborhoods with the benefits of living on the river and close to downtown," Lisa Ferrell, Rockwater's co-founder, said in a news release. "Southern Living recognizes not only that vision but also the architectural beauty and craftsmanship of the homes that have been built in Rockwater."
The single-family neighborhood project on the banks of the Arkansas River presents a "modern take on the traditional, front-porch focused neighborhoods of the past." Designed in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council's pilot LEED guidelines, the project sits near the 64-slip Rockwater Marina and the Arkansas River Trail, an 88-mile biking system.
Other neighborhoods on the Southern Living list are in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
