Home sales in Arkansas were flat in July compared with the same month last year, according to a report Friday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.
The ARA reported 3,124 home sales in July, down 0.2 percent from the same month last year. Year to date, home sales in Arkansas are at 20,418, up 13 percent from the same time last year.
The statewide total is taken from the ARA's survey of 43 Arkansas counties.

Of the top five counties selling the most homes, Washington County saw the biggest increase in activity, with 364 homes sold in July, up 8 percent from the same month last year.
Benton County sold 583 homes, up 7.6 percent. Pulaski County sold 488 homes, down 4.3 percent. Faulkner County sold 157 homes, down 7.1 percent. Saline County sold 163 homes, down 18.9 percent.
Washington County was also the year-to-date leader for increases in home sales activity, with 2,901 homes sold, up 62 percent from the same time last year. Benton County was the busiest for home sales, with 3,468 home sold, up 13.9 percent from the same time last year.
Year to date, Pulaski County sold 3,299 homes, up 13.3 percent; Saline County sold 1,055 homes, down 1.6 percent; and Sebastian County sold 1,020 homes, up 20.7 percent.
The statewide average price was $174,021 in July, up 1.9 percent from the same month last year. Year to date, the average price was $169,465, up 4.5 percent from the same time last year.
